Yacht Charter Croatia, Meet the Crew of Gulet Libra. At Otium Yachts, we pride ourselves on working with some of the best in the industry. With more than a decade’s worth of experience, we learned that the crew is the heart and soul of a yacht charter experience. The crew is the one who transforms a good holiday into an exceptional sailing holiday. Hence, we are just as passionate about presenting the crew from the yachts in our fleet as we are about the yachts themselves. This week, we introduce you to the crew from Gulet Libra.
Marko Mrcic, Captain
Marko led the charge in buying the stunning gulet Libra, a decision that has since proven to be a game-changer. With the Mrcic family's extensive experience spanning over 30 years in various service industries, Marko's lifelong passion for the sea made him the natural choice to captain the ship. Since purchasing Libra in 2013, every season has been a roaring success under Marko's guidance. Marko's expertise as a seasoned sailor, combined with his deep love for the Adriatic coast, ensures that every voyage aboard Libra is nothing short of extraordinary. Fluent in English and armed with intricate local knowledge, Marko goes above and beyond to cater to his clients' needs, offering personalized recommendations for the best experiences and activities. It's no surprise that Libra boasts a loyal following of returning clients, drawn back by Marko's exceptional service and the unforgettable memories he helps create. Antonio Miscin, Chef
Even during his high school education in Culinary school in Split, Antonio was a part of the team in the kitchen of Hotel Radisson Blue in Split, where he continued to work for the next 2 seasons after receiving a professional chef's diploma (2015). Leaving an outstanding mark there, Antonio was invited to join Yellow Tree - a new, fine dining restaurant, located at the seaside in front of Diocletian's Palace. Summer 2017 Antonio spent as a chef on board of newly built mini cruiser. After that experience, Antonio was determined that his path is to present his professional skills to a smaller group of clients on an intimate level and personal approach. When he received an invitation to join Libra, Antonio saw an opportunity to showcase his full potential, skill, and love of culinary art. Another detail was important to Antonio when he chose Libra for his playground: Libra's galley is opened, placed in the salon which provides easy communication with guests, especially with those interested in getting some of Antonio's cooking tips, secrets of the trade, recipes or simply to watch him create his magic. Antonio's inspiration comes from locally produced, seasonal, and fresh ingredients.
Karlo Mudnic, Deckhand
Karlo, a graduate of the School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy, initially embarked on a career as a construction technician. However, drawn by a passion for diverse experiences, he transitioned into maritime hospitality, seeking to broaden his skill set aboard charter boats. Fluent in English and renowned for his teamwork, Karlo seamlessly integrated into Libra's crew, proving himself indispensable. Outside his maritime endeavors, Karlo's altruistic spirit shines through his longstanding commitment to the Scout club "Split." For over 15 years, he has dedicated his free time to mentoring youth, orchestrating team meetings, coordinating scout programs, and camps, and adeptly managing logistical and administrative tasks.
Lucija Belamaric, Stewardess
Lucija, an 18-year-old stewardess, is embarking on her first season with a strong foundation in hospitality. Her uncle's influence, coupled with her upbringing in England and coursework in catering and stewardship, ignited her passion for maritime hospitality. Despite being new to the industry, her experience as a cook and waitress has honed her customer service skills. Lucija prioritizes guest satisfaction, valuing teamwork and organization. She aspires to build a long-term career in the maritime industry, fueled by her love for the sea and dedication to providing exceptional service. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, cooking, baking, and writing. With her enthusiasm and dedication, Lucija is ready to make a positive impact on the guest experience aboard the vessel.
